Attention Literary Agents!

The completed novel BROKEN LACES, an 85,000-word work of mainstream fiction, is not yet published but is waiting for the right literary agent who shares the same passion for getting the story into print. Contact Rodney for information, especially if you wish review the full award-winning manuscript.

Between the Lines

No offense to the thrill ride escapist fiction on the shelves, but I believe that a great story engages the reader's emotions.  My goal as a writer is to take the reader inside the mind of interesting people in extraordinary circumstances.  My work has been described as "Nicholas Sparks meets the Bad News Bears," and I take that as a compliment!

Rodney Walther's debut novel, BROKEN LACES, is complete! (and hoping to be published...)

When Jack, a rich suburban workaholic, loses everything – his wife, his career, his faith – he is forced to face his inadequacies as parent to his young son Kellen.  Can the game which derailed his life’s plans in high school be the source of his renewal, or will he repeat the errors of his youth?  Will Little League, replete with its own challenges and quirks, offer this broken man the chance to rebuild damaged relationships between father and son?  And can he learn to love again?

Recognized in multiple writing contests, BROKEN LACES (previously titled IMPACT) currently awaits representation.

Rodney's second novel, WHITE CHALK ROAD, is in progress.

Serially-abused Loni Maddux escapes her psychotic husband, only to find herself at the center of unexplained deaths in her son’s Little League. Can she discover the violent truth and develop the necessary courage before the killer strikes again?

Recognized in multiple writing contests, WHITE CHALK ROAD is under development.

Rodney and Charles Scott are working together on a new non-fiction project, MY LOSS, MY GAIN.  With the subtitle HOW I DROPPED 350 POUNDS (WITHOUT BARIATRIC SURGERY!) AND FOUND NEW LIFE, the book promises to tell Charles Scott's dramatic and emotional journey from an almost-600-pound mountain of a man to a fit and healthy 205 pounds.
